Inscriptions
"... a sample of the old paper I found in the downstairs front bedroom... The old was applied directly on a skim coat of something like plaster on the wide vertical exterior side boards of my three-quarter, bow-roof house here in Eastham. To find this paper, I removed many other layers of wallpaper, then plaster and lath -- in that order..." (Excerpt from letter from Mrs. Mace to Dorothy Waterhouse)
