Description

Three wallpaper fragments from the Waters Memorial Hall in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Fragment (B) affixed to paperboard. Alternating light and dark gray stripes with small wreath medallions and horizontal bands. Between each medallion stripe are three columns of stacked diamonds with chevron bands. The columns bordering the light gray medallion stripe are light gray with white chevrons, the middle column is also light gray with gray chevrons, and the columns next to the dark gray medallion stripe are dark gray with dark gray chevrons. Block-printed in white and three grays on light gray ground. The ground of the dark gray stripes appears to be brushed on over light gray ground. Handmade paper, partial sheets.
