I purchased a butterfly hinge fragment and it has an accession number on it (1918.469). I was told it came from Essex, MA. By chance I thought it might be an early SPNEA number. I was surprised to instantly find your search function on the web and equally surprised to find it missing from the inventory. It may be related to this object (1918.470) from the Perkins Homestead. Coincidentally, Wm Sumner Appleton was my great great Uncle.
