Description

America was a wooden keel schooner designed and built by George Steers for Commodore J. Stevens of the NYYC in 1851. She became world famous as the first winner of what was subsequently named the America's Cup on August 22, 1851 in Cowes, England. LOA in 1851 100-6ft.
