Description

Two wallpaper fragments mounted on paperboard. The fragments were collected from Barnstable, Massachusetts, and include a note stating they once lined a cowhide trunk from England. The handmade paper is block-printed with a medallion encircled by a larger oval and decorated with oval leaf and acanthus leaf motifs. Printed in gray-green and black on either white ground or ungrounded paper.
