Description

Fragment of handpainted canvas wall covering from the Crane Estate, Ipswich, Massachusetts. Fragment appears to be the lower right hand corner cut from a large wall canvas. The fragment is painted with a border design consisting of rail with leaves and sprigs wrapping around it. A sold line serves as a second border framing a panel-like area painted with a floral motifs. The floral motifs includes a flowering vine and the edge of what may be a large bouquett. The canvas is painted in red, green, black, tan and blue with cream and peach-cream backgrounds.
