Bowl

2006.44.3691 (RS173043)

Description

Small wooden bowl from Hawaii. The inner bottom of the bowl has a decal with the word "Aloha" placed above the Kingdom of Hawaii seal, and the word "Hawaii" below the seal. The bowl was made prior to Hawaiian statehood in 1959. Although the bowl was a souvenir item available to the tourist trade, larger bowls in traditional shapes and styles are highly valued in Hawaii.
