Label
Hogan & Bolas was a small jewelry company begun by Robert Hogan and Deborah Bolas while they were students at the Rhode Island School of Design in the 1940s. They experimented with copper and brass, enamel and wire wrapping. Their designs are excellent examples of mid-century aesthetics, combining biomorphic forms with smooth, minimalist finishes and a hint of whimsy. The company is still in business, although sold to a new owner in 1991, in North Providence, Rhode Island.
