Photograph album 79C

Description

Carte de visite album bound in purple leather. It belonged to James Atkins Noyes. Most of these photos are unidentified or are labeled only with first names or with family relationships, such as "mother" or "father." An exception is a photo of Justin Winsor, the historian, and a little girl named Constance who was probably his daughter. There are many pictures here of one boy named Jim. He is pictured first as a little boy and then as a bearded young man. Brooklyn photographers are represented here, along with J.W. Black and John Adams Whipple from Boston. Most of the photos are in good condition, except for a few which are yellowed.
