Description

This certificate shows that Joseph L. Swaim contributed thirty dollars to the American Baptist Home Mission Society to become a life member. The date is July 8, but the last number of the year is illegible.

The top half features an engraving of a man with a Bible preaching to a group of Africans, Native Americans and more next to a large globe. The phrase, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" is above the image.
