Description

Certificate from the American and Foreign Christian Union granting Rev. Samuel B. Swaim membership due to his contribution of thirty dollars "by the Baptist Churches in Worcester, Mass."

The top half of the certificate has an engraved scene of missionaries sharing the Bible with various different groups of people, including Native American, Asian and African individuals. Underneath this scene it reads, "Whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming."
