My grandfather, Walter Trask ,supposedly owned a haberdashery at 145 Hanover Street sometime around 1890 to 1940.

I seem to be unable to find any data on this person or his hat shop.

Please help, Bob

Robert,

Thank you for your interest in Historic New England and our archival collections. We do not have any records documenting Walter Trask or his hat shop.

Have you tried looking for information in Boston City Directories from 1890 to 1940? If not, I recommend this as a way to confirm the dates of operation, the location, and the name of the business. Historic New England has a set (incomplete) of city directories, which you are welcome to make an appointment to use. Should you wish to, please email archives[at]historicnewengland.org.

Best of luck with your research,
