"Palais-Royal" Wallpaper Panel
French Scenic wallpaper "Palais-Royal" pattern. Panel depicts a group of men and women seated in chairs. One of the men is blindfolded. Stone gatehouse with pair of dragons holding tassels on roof and stone wall with diamond medallion decoration in background. Panel framed by a leafy arch at top and tree-like columns on sides. Panel is glued together with 2010.27.1.29 and 2010.27.1.30. Block printed in grisaille on blue ground. Original manufacturer and designer are unknown. Removed from a circa 1800 house in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
