Description

Four chromolithographs mounted on canvas roll. From left to right: 1. "Death of Lieutenant Henry Clay, Jr."-- Wounded Clay offering pistol admonishing three soldiers to release him and to deliver the pistols to his father. 2. "Attack on the Widow McCormack's House on Boulagh Common Ireland, July 29th, 1848"-- In foreground men attacking house w/ rifles, pikes and farm tools in background widow's house w/ shot issuing from windows. 3. "Great Riot at the Astor Place Opera House, New York"-- Crowd of men hurling stones at Opera House. 4. "Signal Fires on Slievenamon Mountain"-- Foreground w/ men tending a signal fire, background showing mountain range w/ fires on the peak of each one.
