Centennial Acquisitions Exhibiton, October 22nd-23rd, 30th-31st, 2010:<br/> The coat of arms engraved on this elegant chamber stick is that of the Codman family, whose Lincoln, Massachusetts, home is now one of Historic New England’s house museums. The chamber stick probably belonged to John Codman, whose marriage in 1781 to Margaret Russell brought the house in Lincoln into the Codman family. Codman transformed his wife’s family’s Georgian home into the Federal mansion we see today.
