Description

This engraving tells the story of the sacking of the Basing House. The group of figures-- father, daughter, dog-- to the right are the prisoners of the soldiers in helmets to the left. Popish(?) books, priests' dresses, gold and silver plate and cash separate the two groups. A man lies dead at the far left. Mounted in elaborate 4 in. gilt frame.
