Description

Aquatint of Le Place de la Pucelle or the spot of the execution of Joan of Arc. In this street scene, men and women are gathered in a village square and appear to be socializing in small groups. Baskets and large jugs are scattered throughout the courtyard. A 2-story stone structure w/ slanted roof line and visible front doorway and windows w/ attached Gothic spires. Frame: 2 1/4 in. gilt.

On the back on a white label is written: ""Le place de la pucelle/ The spot on which the execution/ took place of the celebrated/ Joan of Arc."" The same words are written in ink on the print's paper back below the label.
