Description

Aquatint of a shipwreck on the Black Rocks near Scarborough. In the center of the print, an overturned ship is seen w/ the waves crashing against it as it nears the rocky shore. Men and women along the shore are attempting to pull in survivors using ropes. Crowds are in the background. Frame: 2 1/4 in. gilt.

On the back is written on a white label: ""Shipwreck on the Black Rocks,/ near Scarborough"" It appears to have been placed over ink writing of the same title on the paper backing.
