Description

Christmas card with a design of a girl sleeping on a purple pansy with a background of clouds enclosed in a decorative border. The card bears the name of Marcus Ward & Co. in the lower left corner, which was a paper and stationary company that became succesful at printing greeting cards in the late 1860s. In the lower right corner is the abbreviation, Ent. Sta. Hall, which stands for "entered at Stationer's Hall", where the London copyright was "normally secured" from 1554 to 1924.
