Description

This close-up view shows the Marquis de Lafayette Memorial, created by sculptor John Francis Paramino and dedicated by the City of Boston on September 6, 1924, on the Tremont Street Mall of Boston Common. The monument commemorates the 100th anniversary of Lafayette's march to Bunker Hill on the 50th anniversary of that battle. The Tremont Street Mall was renamed Lafayette Mall in his honor.
