Oil painting of Lyman Estate #

AvatarPosted by Sally Zimmerman on November 6, 2012
Fussing with Lyman research, I found an illustration of this view in the 1888 Waltham Sesquicentennial program publication as a painting owned by J.F. Moore (John Frederick) of Waltham. Notes on another RS or CAP entry say the oil painting was done from a sketch by Miss Dunken or Druiken made about 1820. Haven't found anything about Dunken/Druiken but note that the painting was the gift of Jon Haywood in 1978, who may have been the Newton MA real estate broker who sold the Lyman Farm for SPNEA about that time. Was the painting in the Farm House? Is there a connection with John F. Moore? Who the heck was Miss Dunken/Druiken?
