Ledger and daybook of Andrew Brabazon, Hartford, Conn., 1858-1863

Description

Stone and stone cutting

Itemizes cost of materials used by a stone cutter and his charges for labor and for the finished stone in the form of monuments or architectural lintels, steps, etc. Measurements are specified. "Billheads" section provides customers' names (indexed) and some addresses in Connecticut and southern Massachusetts. Value as an account book is limited due to extensive re-use by descendant John Brabazon as a scrapbook for newspaper clippings, tobacco revenue stamps, and memorabilia (late-nineteenth century).
