Women's hat

2006.44.1387.1 (RS12570)

Description

Dark brown velvet women's hat. The hat has a high crown with a circular flat top. The velvet on the top of the crown is loose. The brim is circular. Toward the back of the hat the brim narrows in width. There is a wire sewn into the outer edge of the brim to help keep its shape. There are taupe ostrich feathers attached to the side of the crown and wrap all the way around the hat. The underside of the brim is the same dark brown velvet. The interior of the crown is lined with black silk.
