Women's Chinese silk hat with embroidered flowers. The hat has no brim, a high crown with straight sides and a slightly rounded top. The top is made of gray brocaded silk with a pleated strip running across the middle. The sides of the crown are made of the same gray silk, but have colorful embroidered flowers and leaves that show a Chinese influenced style. The sides and top are separate pieces and the top is stitched to the inner upper edge of the sides. There is a wire sewn between layers of fabric along the bottom edge of the sides to keep the circular shape. On the underside, there is a piece of white cotton fabric sewn on around the bottom edge serving as a sweat band. The interior is lined with a stiff, heavily starched white net material to hold the hats shape.
