Women's dress

2006.44.1256AB (RS11865)

Two piece floral print silk women's dress with puffed sleeves. The front of the bodice has a center panel of pleated pink organdy with a lace yoke overlay and pleated pink ruffle down the center. The elbow length sleeves are made from the floral print silk. The sleeves have large gathered puffs at the shoulders and pink organdy trim at the cuffs. The bodice has a high collar with two pink organdy rosettes on either side of the neck. The bodice has a front closure of twenty hooks and loops. The back of the bodice has a center panel with the same pleated pink organdy and lace as the front of the bodice. The interior of the bodice is lined with pink silk. Around the waist of the bodice are eleven strips of boning. There is also a stiff ribbon that wraps around the waist sewn into the center panel of the bodice. The center of the ribbon has a maker's label. The ankle length skirt is made from the cream silk floral fabric with a pink silk ribbon around the waist. The skirt flares out from the waist. It has a slightly shorter front hem creating a small train at the back. The interior of the skirt is lined with pink silk. The back of the skirt has two hook and loop closures. There is a pink silk bow at the center. Pinned to the inner section of the bodice was a floral prink silk bow made of the same pattern as the skirt, which functions as an alternate belt around the waist of the skirt.
