This collection consists of fifty-four scrapbooks on a variety of topics and including many different types of materials. Some scrapbooks include newspaper clippings while others include ephemera. Still others include personal materials such as sketches or poems. Please see individual scrapbooks' descriptions for further information.

Historical/Biographical Note

The scrapbooks in this collection was created as individual items, each with it's own creator and intent, and they were grouped into this collection by Historic New England Library and Archives staff. The scrapbooks were aquired through many different gifts of individual scrapbooks or sets of scrapbooks. Detailed acquisition information is available for individual items when possible, and a more complete historical note is available for each when possible as well.


The scrapbooks are numbered in approximately the order in which they were received, and they are described in that order.
