Hollow cut silhouette of Captain Stephen Phillips. Chalk highlights accent the outline of his clothing. The silhouette is cut out of black paper and adhered to backing paper.

Phillips it/came to me. Labelled 1911 by Stephen W. Phillips V./J.D. Phillips has a similar one." (Handwritten in black ink)
