Subseries E. Printed materials, 1856-1916, undated, consists of a variety of printed materials, which include: a bookplate of Elihu Chauncey, a copy of the Federal Fire Society Song (1870), constitutions and bylaws for the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (1876, 1878, 1882), samples of New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals letterhead, New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children Report (1882), an official program for Portsmouth, New Hampshire's Memorial Day (1880), and an obituary for Elihu Chauncey (1916). This subseries includes printed materials related to May's student years at Harvard and as an alumnus: a certificate of admission (1858), "Regulations for the Assignment of Rooms, 1859-60," Examination of Juniors in Greek (1860), Hasty Pudding Club Theatre (1860), "Catalogue of Students" (1861), Seniors (1860-1861), a copy of the Boston Daily Advertiser, 18 July 1861, 1861 Class Day invitation, dance card, and order of exercises, First Triennial Report (1864), Commemoration Day (1865), Twentieth Anniversary Dinner (1881), Eighteenth Annual Dinner, Harvard Club (1884), Commencement ticket (1911), Room Occupants, Stoughton 16 & 23 (1806-1904), and class songs. The subseries also contains catalogues and a report card from Phillips Exeter Academy, and an announcement, programs, and scripts related to private theatricals (1876-1878).
