Cathedral back chair. One of a pair. Mahogany, satinwood inlay, chestnut vails, maple coner braces. Black tacks along seat rail. Rectangular splat composed of front-reeded slats, each corner terminating in an inlaid square. Curved crest rail with rectangular inlay. Bottom of splat comprised of three front-reeded slats rising toward crest. Each slat divides in two and bends to form two full and two partial Gothic arches. Rests on front reeded and tapered legs and back curving legs; "H" and rear stretchers.
A circular label on the bottom of the seat of .126B says: ""FJC/ great great grandmother Stetson chairs. She married in 1793.""
