Centennial Acquisitions Exhibiton, October 22nd-23rd, 30th-31st, 2010: <br/> After Sarah Orne Jewett suffered a stroke in 1902, her family moved her from her quiet bedroom tucked away at the back of the house to a bright room in the front, from which she could watch the comings and goings on the town’s busiest streets below. To one side of her bed was a daybed. To the other stood this upholstered wing chair, which had once belonged to her grandfather and now provided comfort in the last few years of her life.
