Description

"Shakspeare(sic)/ Winter's Tale/ Act II. Scene III." Interior scene depicting the armoured King Leontes, presenting a sword to the elderly Lord Antigonus at left, while pointing to naked infant, Perdita at right. At right, a guard and four other men look on scene from the shadows; one helmeted soldier leans over child. Beneath image, inscription (See Inscription). Frame= gold leaf over wood and gesso. beading, egg and dart surround.
