Abstract
The Province House's style owed a general debt to certain aspects of architecture of the Low Countries of the 16th and 17th centuries. But neither its original sources in Holland nor its subsequent English intermediaries have been precisely identified. Nancy Halverson Schless takes a closer look at the gables and chimneys of the Province House and their architectural predecessors.
