Hello....my 3rd grt. grandparents were nathan and peace clifford batchelder...mill owners of Batchelder Mills/Cole Manufacturing ( c.1818) lakeport nh, and canal engineers for the Amoskeag Mills 1838-40's .....Peace's brother was gilman clifford, cabinetmaker of salisbury and sanbornton tin corners. Their parents were joseph clifford (born 1750) and lydia moody, coming from kingston to loudon ridge/gilmanton c.1771.......i know of 3 pieces of inlaid furniture made by gilman clifford.we own a card table...( he died in his late twenties)....and always suspected an apprenticeship w/ lt. samuel Dunlap......or maybe Ebenezer????.....but the reason for this email is finding a possible relationship between joseph and ebenezer clifford????? i believe they are brothers or close cousins....joseph also had woodworking skills... i believe a house builder, and i understand the old family clifford house in hampton had an auction w/ the sale of much woodworking tools many years ago ( as did the Gilman Garrison House)......much info is now lost.......also there is an old house on bear hill rd. Chichester called the "prescott house" ( a couple miles near the large 3 story Loudon..joseph clifford house), ....25-30 years ago i spoke to the multi-generational family( now gone) that owned the prescott farm and they thought there was a connection to kingston and the clifford family........i appologize for what maybe "to much" or confusing info.........it would be nice to figure out the Clifford genealogy connection....If they were from another town other than Kingston or east kingston (ike the batchelders at the same time frame) I would probably focus on something else.......by the way dan webster's mother was an Eastman, and her mother was a Batchelder from East Kingston/kingston.....D Webster's g. mother( batchelder) and my 6th great grandfather were brother and sister ( i believe all from east kingston)......I have my family pictures....and the batchelder family all had deep set eyes and strong determination. like WEBSTER.....thanks for listening.......warm regards.... and if someone can use this info or lead me to another link, for more research its much appreciated..i went to north bennett st. school boston. years ago......rpwalsh
