Black silk twill; black lace chemisette with high band collar; black lace at collar and sleeves backed with cream tulle; black silk bands of openwork with geometric pattern of diamonds, squares and ovals - these bands radiate around chemisette, sleeves and hem; vertical tucks full length of dress; boned; long sleeves puffed to elbows with self-ruffle, and black lace fitted undersleeve; 2 tucks around hem; fully lined with black taffeta underskirt edged with black velvet; taffeta band across lower back of underskirt to hold fullness in position; long train; hook and eye closure at back.
