Wall Shingles from Bulkley House #

AvatarPosted by Richard Hershner on February 20, 2011
Please see relevant comments on such wall shingles made by me in regard to the Taylor-Hurlbutt house. These shingles were gifted by me at the same time as those from that house. The Bulkley house is located on Beach Road in Fairfield, CT and faces on the area of the original town green, containing the Town House (and County Court). I obtained the shingles during a renovation by the owner resulting in the side wall now being clapboarded. It is worth noting that as clapboards are now readily available as opposed to 3 foot shingles (and clapboards are considered more fashionable), original wall shingles are at risk of being lost.
