Unused wallpaper sample. Stylized lilies with long stems over a large bubble of small circles. Printed in pink, yellow and two greens on a deep red ground. British paper named "Day Lily" designed by Walter Crane and printed by Jeffrey & Co.

The name of this Walter Crane wallpaper design is "Day Lily". The Victoria & Albert Museum has further examples of this design in 6 other colour-ways - red ground (E.2317-1932) the same as this HNE sample, white ground (E.2316-1932), mustard ground (E.5145-1919), green ground (E.5146-1919), grey ground (E.5147-1919) and mid-blue ground (E.5148-1919), all with yellow flowers and green foliage, and all colour woodblock printed on paper by Jeffrey & Co.
