Woodstock celebrates its 325th Anniversary

Roseland Cottage watercolor

Woodstock, Conn., celebrated its 325th anniversary on April 30 at the Woodstock Historical Society’s Palmer Memorial Hall with the opening of A Journey Through Woodstock, an exhibition chronicling the people, places, and objects that define Woodstock’s long history. Two images in the exhibition, both related to Roseland Cottage, are on loan from Historic New England’s Library and Archives. The exhibition is open to the public on Sunday afternoons, May through November.

The April 30 celebratory event also marks the introduction of the Woodstock Historical Society’s newest book, From the Roxbury Fells to the Eastward Vale: A Journey through Woodstock, 1686-2011. This illustrated publication explores Woodstock’s history from the perspective of its seven villages. Images from Historic New England’s Library and Archives are also used in the book.
