Wall rebuilt at Codman Estate
August 22, 2010
Recently, a retaining wall at the rear of the Codman Estate was carefully taken apart stone by stone and reconstructed in a manner that will make it more stable for decades. During the rebuilding, a drainage pipe was run below grade and nestled behind the wall in order to pull water from the roof and route it further away from the building. This simple technique will help preserve the building and re-establish an important structural element.
