The Historic New England exhibition Touring New England, 1820 – 1970 goes on display at Governor John Langdon House in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on July 22.

Explore more than 100 years of travel and tourism in New England. This charming exhibition looks at why and how tourists traveled, where they stayed, and what they purchased. Touring New England uses historic photographs, postcards, and other material to "sight-see" through the area’s history, natural beauty, and regional attractions.

Touring New England is a must see for everyone curious about how New England became such a popular tourist destination. The exhibition is on view Fridays through Sundays, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
