Brock Jobe and Jared Bowen at Otis House

In mid-September, Jared Bowen from WGBH visited Historic New England’s Otis House to interview Brock Jobe, professor of American decorative arts at the Winterthur Museum, about the Four Centuries of Massachusetts Furniture initiative.

Catch the interview next week on WGBH's televison and radio stations. See it on Greater Boston on Monday, September 23, at 7:00 p.m., and on Open Studio with Jared Bowen on Friday, September 27, at 8:30 p.m. Hear segments of the interview on Morning Edition on Thursday, September 26, at 8:50 a.m.

To see remarkable examples of Massachusetts furniture up close, stop by Otis House during regular tour hours or visit one of the eight other Historic New England properties with Massachusetts furniture on display.

Four Centuries of Massachusetts Furniture is a collaboration among ten museums and cultural institutions throughout the state that highlights Massachusetts furniture-making, from the 1600s to the present day, through a series of exhibitions and public programs. Historic New England is proud to be a part of Four Centuries of Massachusetts Furniture, along with the Colonial Society of Massachusetts; Concord Museum; Fuller Craft Museum; Historic Deerfield; Historic New England; Massachusetts Historical Society; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; North Bennet Street School; Old Sturbridge Village; and Peabody Essex Museum.
