Salem Food Tours take a bite of Phillips House history

May 2, 2013

Salem Food Tours at Phillips

On April 28, the Phillips House Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, hosted a group from the acclaimed Salem Food Tours. Salem Food Tours are guided food and cultural walking tours that offer intimate interactions with local chefs and shop owners, as well as tastings, while exploring four centuries of the city's history.

At Phillips House, the group enjoyed a sunny day surrounded by early spring blooms and sweet turtle candies provided by Turtle Alley Candies. The turtles complemented the story of the Phillips family holiday favorite, turtle soup. After enjoying a sweet treat and learning about dining etiquette, the group was able to take a quick peek at the dining room, china closet, and kitchen before moving on to their next stop.

Historic New England is a tour partner with Salem Food Tours and more visits will be planned throughout the year.
