Roseland Cottage wins grant to support education programs
October 18, 2016
Historic New England’s Roseland Cottage (1846) in Woodstock, Connecticut, recently secured $8,000 from The Barnes Foundation, Inc., to support museum education programs for local schools.
The grant provides funds to subsidize transportation and program costs associated with providing local schools with a quality museum experience. Roseland Cottage education programs include field trips and classroom programs for grades one through eleven. These multi-disciplinary experiences are platforms for students to explore American history from colonization to the Gilded Age through the real stories of men, women, and children.
The Barnes Foundations, Inc., awards grants to promote excellence in education with an emphasis on programs that benefit students in grades kindergarten through high school.
