Merwin House open

More than two hundred people visited Historic New England's Merwin House in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, on Saturday, December 3. The c. 1825 summer retreat for the Doane and Merwin families, also known as Tranquility, was open as part of the Twenty-Second Annual Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas weekend. Visitors from as far away as North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey enjoyed guided first-floor tours of the museum and ended their visit on the back lawn with a beautiful view of the Housatonic River.

Historic New England welcomes eight new households who joined as members during the day. Looking for a great holiday gift? Historic New England gift memberships are available now for $10 off the regular membership price.
