Members' Weekend Trip to Connecticut's "Quiet Corner"

Quiet Corner
Registration is now open to all members for the 2010 Members’ Weekend Trip to Roseland Cottage and Connecticut’s “Quiet Corner” from Friday, August 6, through Sunday, August 8, 2010. Register soon as space is very limited.

Join us in exploring the small towns of Connecticut’s “Quiet Corner,” a region rich in rural and historic character. Learn about Woodstock’s prominent Bowen family, drive scenic Route 169, meet the operators of local farms, and taste the bounty of their summer harvest.

Visit the 1846 Roseland Cottage, built in the Gothic Revival style as a country home for Henry Chandler Bowen and his family. See the Farmers, Cows, and the Land exhibition, a Historic New England 100 Years 100 Communities partnership project, and enjoy a welcome reception.

Stay at the elegant Inn at Woodstock Hill, built in 1816 as a Bowen family home. Each room has a private bath, television, telephone, radio and wireless Internet access, and air conditioning.

Trip fee is $420 per person based on double occupancy and $549 per person based on single occupancy. Includes two nights’ accommodations, a welcome reception, continental breakfast at the inn, lunch and dinner on Saturday, box lunch on Sunday, and all tours and admissions. Download a PDF flyer, itinerary, and registration form here. For questions, call 617-994-5935 or e-mail Membership@HistoricNewEngland.org.
