Behind the Scenes Tour
Historic New England Curator Laura Johnson shows visitors what to look for when examining furniture.

On September 22, Laura Johnson, associate curator at Historic New England, and Michaela Neiro, objects conservator, led a group of seventeen members on a special tour of Historic New England's collections storage facility and conservation lab in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Laura led the group through the large collection of paintings, costume, textiles, ceramics, pottery, and furniture as well as some exciting new acquisitions.

A visit to the conservation lab rounded out the tour as Michaela described the variety of materials she works with and some of the interesting projects in the lab right now.

Historic New England offers members behind-the-scenes access to our properties and collections all year long. Join or renew today.
