Waltham History Days

Historic New England welcomed Waltham, Massachusetts, residents to tour the Lyman Estate as part of Historic Waltham Days. Preservation Manager Colleen Chapin led hard-hat tours highlighting the ongoing weatherization project that aims to reduce energy consumption in the 1793 mansion by fifty percent. Visitors toured the gardens with Landscape Assistant Ellen Mackey, who described plans to restore the peach wall garden, re-create the historic garden path, re-establish the box hedge, and rehabilitate the rhododendron grove.
