It's time for spring cleaning

Cleaning at Quincy House
Historic New England conservators carefully clean objects at Quincy House in Quincy, Massachusetts.

Now that the sun is finally (intermittently) shining, and the thermometer is climbing past 60 degrees, it's time to think about spring cleaning.

At Historic New England, spring cleaning is a big deal. Think about your own household chore list, then multiply it by thirty-seven.

Because many Historic New England sites open to the public in June, there's plenty of springtime work to be done to make sure they look their best.

Our property care and collection services teams are making the rounds throughout New England, pruning trees and bushes, returning garden ornaments from winter storage, and completing countless small repairs to historic houses and the objects displayed within.

You can help ensure that Historic New England sites are in great shape for summer without even getting your hands dirty. Just make a gift to the Annual Fund, and help pay for the equipment, supplies, and staff time needed to get spring cleaning done.
