Old Town by the Sea

Explore Historic New England’s properties in the Piscataqua Region with A Tale of Two Houses and Old Town by the Sea, our recently published souvenir booklets.

A Tale of Two Houses tells the story of Hamilton House (c. 1785) and Sarah Orne Jewett House (1774) in South Berwick, Maine, and their intertwined histories. Old Town by the Sea showcases Jackson House (c. 1664), Governor John Langdon House (1784), and Rundlet-May House (1807) to transport the reader through centuries of Portsmouth history.

These new books join others in the collection featuring Otis HouseGropius House, and Roseland Cottage. Each twenty-four-page booklet is beautifully illustrated in color and black and white and sells for $7.95. Visit our online shop for more information.
