Local volunteers clean up Quincy House landscape
For more than two decades, residents of Quincy, Massachusetts, have rolled up their sleeves to spruce up their neighborhood parks, beaches, schools, marshes, and open spaces. Cleaner, Greener Quincy takes place annually on the first Saturday in May. This year, five members of the Wollaston Garden Club and three neighbors volunteered to clean up the landscape spaces at Quincy House during the twenty-third annual event.
Volunteers cut back overgrown honeysuckle, weeded the pea gravel path, and divided Siberian iris. The property is preparing for Historic New England's annual Open House on June 2. Additionally, Quincy House will take part in Discover Quincy Days (PDF) on June 2, July 7, August 4, and September 1.
