Discovering Cambridge history at Cooper-Frost-Austin House
August 16, 2011
On August 13, the Cooper-Frost-Austin House in Cambridge, Mass., welcomed the public with free tours in partnership with the Cambridge Historical Commission’s Cambridge Discovery Days, an annual citywide celebration of Cambridge history. In addition, thirteen visitors toured both the Hooper-Lee-Nichols House owned by the Cambridge Historical Society and Cooper-Frost-Austin House on August 15 as part of Historic New England's Members' Week programs.
In addition to learning about the history and architecture of Cambridge's oldest house, visitors also heard about the Community Preservation Act grant from the City of Cambridge that will support roof replacement at the Cooper-Frost-Austin House. The grant is matched by Historic New England's Preservation Maintenance Fund.
